Velvet Merchants was founded in Nairobi in 2014 by a small team of engineers who believed reliable power shouldn't depend on where you live or how close you are to the national grid. What began as rooftop solar installations for local businesses has grown into a full-service green energy company — powering factories, farms, resorts, and remote communities across Kenya.
Today our engineers design and maintain everything from single-home solar kits to multi-megawatt solar farms and telecom tower power systems in some of the country's most remote counties.
